Stephen J Whitton?
“positive about the future, having chosen the path of hope”
Stephen is Founder of [M]enable – the global movement for mental health support in the Automotive Sector. After a successful career spanning 35 years in the industry, with numerous roles from Salesman to Executive Director, he is a renowned authority on employee well-being to achieve results.
[M]enable was created on the back of Stephen’s own struggles, with a clear purpose and mission – to change cultures in male dominated and performance driven businesses, enabling the Mental Health stigma to be removed. Wanting leaders to embrace the ethos that when people feel good about themselves, they perform better, Stephen’s mantra is
“positive employee outcomes = positive customer outcomes = positive business outcomes”.
Leaving school without academic qualifications to pursue a career in teaching, Stephen did what any teenage, excitable and aspiring Super-hero would do – he became a Car Salesman. Working internationally across the industry and developing a strong presence in the sector, Stephen was always drawn back to training and development. He’s renowned for an expert knowledge of results-oriented business and the behaviours within them so using his extensive observations and anecdotes, he delivers thought leading talks, programmes, and workshop facilitation that have inspired 1000s of people in audiences across the globe.
Stephen is a representative of the LGBTQ+ community and a member of the Professional Speaking Association.
Whether in person or virtually, Stephen will inspire audiences to take a fresh look at mental health – of their own and of the people they’re close to (in work or at home).
Through sharing his honest and raw story, Stephen hopes his open vulnerability will remind everyone that we ALL have mental health, just as we all have physical health.
BUT, moreover, Stephen will gift the audience with pragmatic tools and tips they can use everyday in their lives.
